Can anyone work in the Security, Fire & Life Safety Industry?
Due to the wide variety of roles available, it is possible for anybody to work in the security, fire and life safety industry, subject to passing our screening process in line with BS7858 guidelines.

What is the company’s approach to diversity and inclusion?

What does the interview process look like?
Depending on the role, this will entail either a 1 or 2 step process. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams, on the phone or in person dependent on your location. Interviews are an opportunity for you to show your knowledge and show why you are the best fit for the role. They also allow the hiring manager the opportunity to give you an overview of the role, responsibilities and the benefits of working for KST.

What do I need to bring to my interview?
You will be asked to bring one form of ID and two proofs of address dated within the previous 3 months such as a utility bill or bank statement.

What if I need reasonable adjustments during the interview process?
We understand there are a broad range of adjustments candidates may need during the recruitment process, such as out of hours interviews, short notice of rescheduling and many more. Should you need any reasonable adjustments throughout your recruitment process, contact your recruitment officer who will be happy to provide assistance and offer what flexibility options we can provide.

Who can I talk to if I have a problem during the process?
No matter what stage in the process, our HR department will be on hand to provide assistance should you need it. You will be provided with contact information for a member of the team at the beginning of the recruitment process.

When are candidates notified of the outcome of their interview?
Whether successful or not, all candidates are informed of the outcome of their interview. All candidates are notified within a timely manner and are always provided feedback no matter the outcome. Candidates are also provided the contact details of the recruiter should they have any questions about the outcome.

What happens after you are offered the job?
Should you be successful, a member of our recruitment team will notify you via a phone call and the next steps will be explained.
You will then receive a “Offer of Employment & Applications Forms” email in which you will be provided with some informative help sheets to aid in the screening process, asked to complete a Personal Details Form and provide any outstanding documentation requested at the interview stage. Once this initial documentation is complete you will be submitted for screening.

What is the BS7858 and why do we put our employees through this screening?
The BS7858 is a British Standard which helps us to screen individuals working in the security sector and is a requirement of our accreditations. The BS7858 involves a series of checks including ID verification, right to work checks, a 5 or 10-year career history, a financial probity check, criminal records and a global watchlist check.

Who do I contact if I am struggling with my screening application?
Our HR team will be available throughout the screening process to answer any questions you may have or provide assistance where appropriate. Our HR team will also provide the contact number of the screening company should you have further questions or issues.

When do I get my start date?
Once we have received the successful results of your limited screening. Your start date may vary dependent on the business needs and the your notice period. An appropriate start date will be confirmed via a phone call then followed up with a Start Date Letter.

What happens on my first day?
On your first day, you will be greeted by either a member of our HR team or your new manager. You will then undergo your company induction, IT induction and any additional induction or training specific to your new role. Once inductions are complete you will meet your new team and begin to settle into your new role.

How is my performance in my new role measured?
At Kings Secure Technologies, we believe there should be an open line of communication between employees and their managers, where communication regarding performance can take place naturally.
Two meetings, called Performance Achievement Reviews, are held during an employee’s first year. These meetings are a chance for employees to discuss their performance and any possible improvements with their manager. Your first meeting will be held around 6-months into your employment with the second at around 12-months. After completion of your first year of employment these reviews will take place annually (once per year).Our Ambassador Award scheme also provides a monthly opportunity for employees to nominate other employees who they believe have exceeded expectations.
